The partnership between Collins College of Hospitality Management and the Robert Mondavi Winery began in 1991, when Dean Margie Ferree Jones first met with Robert and Margrit Biever Mondavi. The American Institute of Wine and Food (AIWF) endorsed the school to host a student chapter, marking the start of a long-standing relationship. The program has provided students with hands-on experience in the wine industry, including internships and job placements. The partnership has also led to the creation of a wine and hospitality curriculum, which is taught by industry experts.*

The vertical tasting featured a selection of wines from the personal collection of Barry Bloom, a renowned wine collector and philanthropist. The event was a unique opportunity for attendees to experience the progression of the Mondavi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon over the years, from the 1980s to the present. The tasting featured 15 wines, each representing a different vintage from 1985 to 2009. The wines were carefully selected and poured by a team of expert sommeliers. The tasting was conducted in a specially designed tasting room, with comfortable seating and a relaxed atmosphere.
