Uplifted Winery is a boutique winery in downtown Rapid City, where wine aficionados and novice wine drinkers can come together and enjoy hand-crafted wines in a casual, comfortable setting. The winery is celebrating its grand opening on Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9, from noon to 8 p.m. The winery is owned by Adam and Emily Martinez, who are passionate about wine and wine-making, and for the Black Hills region. Emily is a nearly lifelong resident of the region, while Adam has lived here since 2012. “Our name is more than just a reference to the Black Hills. We hope your experiences with us will be uplifting,” according to the Uplifted Winery website. “We’re proud to share a taste of this place with you.”

The initial offerings on the menu include seven red and three white wines, which will continually evolve with more red wines being added soon and new white wines being fermented in the fall. The wine selections will be complemented by charcuterie and bread boards by Sapphire and Sage Creative Catering and Events. “We want everybody to feel comfortable. We don’t care if you’ve ever tried wine or you’re an expert. We’ve got wine for everyone,” according to Adam. Uplifted Winery welcomes wine enthusiasts and novice wine drinkers alike, aiming to create a relaxed environment where people can enjoy conversations over a glass of wine. “To me, wine is more than just a beverage; it’s a way to nourish community. I believe the best wine in the world is the one that resonates most with each individual. Everyone has their favorite, and that’s what makes wine so personal and exciting,” said Adam. “Wine is a way to bring people together and create memories,” Emily added. The winery will offer a wine club and plans to host wine-pairing dinners for club members, as well as events for the general public.
